How to get here
There are two options for reaching Pian delle Betulle.
On Foot: After driving to the town of Casargo in Alta Valsassina via the SS36 road or alternatively the SP62 road, continue to Alpe di Paglio (1,440 meters above sea level). Here, you will find a paid parking area (€3 for the whole day), a bar, and a restaurant. After leaving your car, take the comfortable forest path that leads to Pian delle Betulle in about 20 minutes.
Alternatively, you can take the cable car: It departs from the village of Margno (730 meters above sea level), where you can park your car (paid parking at €2.50 for 12 hours). The cost of the cable car is €13.50 round trip for adults and €8.50 for children aged 4-12; younger children travel for free. The ticket price for dogs, which must be muzzled, is €3; bicycles are also €3.
During the low season, the cable car operates on the following schedule: 8:30, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 12:15, 13:30, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, and 17:00. The cable car is closed on Thursdays.
